Oriental rug cleaning, dust removal and moth proofing

We clean and repair Oriental, Persian, Contemporary and Eastern European carpets rugs and kilims. This includes antique rugs as well as Aubusson Tapestries of over 100 years old.

Each rug has a personalised cleaning procedure, depending on the dye, age and stain base involved. Some stains are removed quite easily whilst others will require specialist colour restoration.

1. The rug will undergo a detailed inspection and assessment prior to any cleaning or repair work being carried out

2. Dyes will be assessed for stability and the rug will be checked for signs of any existing concerns or damages.

3. Harnessing 40,000 harmonic vibrations per minute, our specialist dust removal machinery softly vibrates out the most stubborn dirt, soil, sediments, and insect eggs caught deep inside the fibres of the rug.

4. Submerged washing takes place using our pH neutral specialised shampoo for rug cleaning. It is very important to use the correct shampoo as dyes are sensitive to acid or alkaline solutions.

5. A deep rinse will take place with water passing through the rug multiple times both front and back. The excess water is scrubbed off and the rug can be left to dry naturally.

6. Only after your rug is completely dry will it be dusted again to remove any remaining grit that is been loosened as a result of the rug cleaning process.

7. The rug then undergoes a final brush up and inspected prior to delivery.
